greenskin is supposed to reveal the potential for greening the city in alternative ways. Technical feasibility is one of the main goals of greenskin. Further questions target the effects that can be observed when cars have their own green space.
Los Angeles and the federal state of Baden-Wurttemberg have one thing in common. The number of registered cars is about 7,000,000. Assuming that one car has a surface area of about 5 square meters there are circa 35 square kilometers of sheet metal driving around. That's enough to cover all of the inner city of Stuttgart or two thirds of Hollywood or 3,500 football fields. Imagine this area covered by green space!
